A new version of the Power Path solution for power line design has been released. This blog post outlines the new features introduced in version V25.
The POWER PATH team is constantly developing and improving the Power Path® solution. Behind the scenes, our development and support teams work daily to create, improve and research new functionalities, providing customers with new and innovative approaches to power line design. In front of you is What is new document which describes what the latest version brings.
The latest version of the Power Path solution is Power Path V25, build 25.1.07.

Power Path offers numerous benefits for power line design and project development, including:
- 2D design and advanced 3D BIM modeling
- Generation of calculation reports
- Customization of power line components
- Reduction of information-sharing restrictions
- Increased project transparency
- Enhanced project visualization
- Import/export of IFC (BIM) models
- Import/export of SHP (GIS) data
- Integration of online maps and WMS data
- Seamless project sharing with all data for the next phases (construction, operation, maintenance and management)

Enjoy in exploring and using new functionalities!
🆕 Added New Commands for Power Line Design
- [PP_ADDPROPERTYSETS] – Adds predefined BIM property sets and classifies entities (supports, insulators, conductors, alignments, surfaces) to selected objects or power lines in the drawing.
- [BIMPROPERTIES] – Manages user-defined or system-generated BIM property sets for supports, conductors, and insulators. Enables creation, editing, reordering, and removal.
- [BIMCLASSIFY;O] – Manually assigns BIM classification to selected objects or buildings (e.g., walls, columns, or custom categories).
- [BIMCLASSIFY;O] – Removes BIM classification from selected objects or buildings.
- [MAPCONNECT] – Connects to external map services (e.g., WMS) to import geospatial imagery or mapping data into the drawing.
🔧 Upgraded and Extended Commands for Power Line Design
- [PP_PROJECTEXPLORER] – Now supports 3D model previews via right-click on support and insulator data models.
- [PP_IFCEXPORT] – Enhanced export of selected entities or entire power lines and surfaces.
- [GEOMAP] – Added support for OpenStreetMap and ESRI Basemaps.
- [TIN] – Now allows TIN surface creation from Contours and Mesh (including Polyface Mesh).
- [TIN;C] – Supports TIN surface creation from cropped Point Cloud sections.
- [TINEDIT] – New options: Minimize Flat Areas, Remove Elevations, and Smoothing. Additional dialogs for point groups, breaklines, boundaries, and edge removal.
- [TIN;I] – Supports UTF-8-BOM encoded point files.
- [CIVILPOINT;I] – Improved performance for importing large civil point files with enhanced dialog and format support.
🛠️ Fixed Commands for Power Line Design
- [PP_IFCEXPORT] – Corrected units for orientation and temperature in IFC files.
- [PP_EDITWEATHERCONDITIONS], [PP_ADDWEATHERCONDITIONS] – Ice load options are now disabled when temperature is above 0°C.
- [PP_CREATEPROFILEVIEW] – Fixed scaling issues for profile views.
- [PP_CREATEQUANTITYREPORT] – Corrected translations in quantity reports.
🌐 Upgraded and Extended Other Functionalities
- [PP_IFCIMPORT] – Now supports importing .ifczip files.
- [PRINT] – Enhanced export to BMP, PNG, JPG, TIFF; improved PDF export with bookmarks.
- [IMPORT] – Added support for Trimble SketchUp (SKP) 2023 and 2024.
- [IFCIMPORT] – New dialog for BIM data import settings with profiles, filters, and origin options.
- [IMPORT] – RFA import now allows selection of specific family types.
- [CIVIL3DIMPORT] – Improved import of Civil 3D entities (surfaces, alignments, pipes) from .dwg or direct conversion.
- [POINTCLOUDATTACH] – Faster preprocessing and support for new formats: .zfs, .lgsx, .rsp, .rdbx, .hspc.pack. ASCII format also supported via custom import panel.
- [POINTCLOUDCOLORMAP] – New stylization options: Object and Classification. Elevation and Intensity now include Range settings.
- Point Cloud Manager now includes Render Settings and editable reference paths via Attachments Panel.
- [VPORTS] – Supports different visual styles across multiple viewports.
🧱 Fixed Other Functionalities
- [TINEXTRACT] – Resolved issue with incorrect 3D solids between TIN surfaces representing volume.
🎨 Improved User Interface and Workflow
- Optimized Start Page for better visibility and file previews. Ribbon is no longer loaded by default.
- Enhanced Power Path® UI with improved Ribbon and Panels. New features include Ribbon Search, Interface Settings, and a redesigned Status Bar (USENEWSTATUSBAR).
- Workspace customization available via the CUSTOMIZE command.
- Improved creation and editing of large TIN surfaces and point clouds.
- Upgraded License Manager for better performance and reliability.
